Schatten Design  Product Code  Description Schatten Banjo Pick up Series Schatten Banjo Pickups BJ-02 Std. and BJ-02 Pro Fits All Banjos - 4 string, 5 string, 6 string Revolutionary! The BJ-02 pickup sensor is installed on the underside of the banjo head and is usually placed directly under and inline with the center foot of the bridge. The pickup is totally non-damping. It does not interfere in any way whatsoever with natural acoustic tone or output of the banjo. New For 2008 - The BJ-02 Pro model - Our Best Selling Banjo Pickup Is Now Available With A Volume Control This particular placement of the sensor allows the pickup to "hear" just what the banjo is doing. The center foot of the bridge is driving the element directly for maximum output and clarity and it is due to this same placement of the element that also gives the BJ-02's their superior anti-feedback characteristics. It is very difficult for feedback to drive the pickup in reverse due to the overall stiffness of the bridge area. The BJ-02 series is designed to work on any banjo. Five string, tenor, six string; all sound excellent with this pickup. Installation of the pickup system takes about ten minutes and everything that you need to complete the installation is included with the system. On a 'normal' banjo with a three footed bridge, the pickup is to be installed on the underside of the head directly under the centre foot of the bridge. On tenor banjos or banjos having a two footed bridge, the suggested placement for the pickup is on the underside of the head directly under the bass side bridge foot. The BJ-02 Std. comes with our NBJA rosewood bodied jack assembly with a 1/4" output jack. The new BJ-02 Pro features a small black ABS jack assembly with a 1/4" output jack and an integrated volume control. These jack assemblies nestle in tight against the tensioning hooks and simply clamp to those tensioning hooks in the same way that a normal arm rest attaches. This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.).If you require the added ability to be able to plug directly into a P.A. or mixer then you may wish to add one of our Preamp/DI units to your pickup system. SDBJ02STD Schatten Banjo Pickup with Rosewood Jack With NBJA rosewood jack assembly SDBJ02PRO Schatten Banjo Pickup with Rosewood Jack + Volume Control With NBJAplus ABS jack assembly with volume control Schatten Bouzouki/Mandola Pick up Series The new BM-1 Series of pickups was designed with a lengthened sensor element to enable it work properly on the bridges of Bouzouki's, Mandola's, fixed non-adjustable Mandolins and Citterns that traditionally have a wider string spacing format than a standard mandolin. This series of pickups allows you to add a pickup system to your instrument without having to change the bridge or modify anything . Featuring our new MVC jack assemblies (which simply attach to the underside of the existing tailpiece), the BM-1's offer a real alternative to pickups that require bridge replacement. The BM-1 sensor is small and light in weight. 1/4" high by 2 1/4" in length and will not affect the acoustic sound of the instrument. It will work on virtually all of these instrument's bridges, adjustable or fixed, and only requires a small flat area on the bridge face for the sensor to adhere to. Features: * Ease of installation, the pickup adheres to the bridge with VHB foam tape. * The jack assembly, available with or without a volume control simply adheres to the underside of the tailpiece. * Clean, clear sound reproduction. This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound good without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.). As with any pickup, the sound can be further enhanced and EQ'd with an outboard preamp. If you require the added ability to be able to plug directly into a P.A. or mixer on a regular or occasional basis, then you may wish to add one of our Preamp/DI units to your pickup system. SDBM1STD Schatten Bouzouki/Mandola Pickup with MVC Stick-On pickup adheres to the bridge. Jack assembly attaches to the tailpiece SDBM1PRO Schatten Bouzouki/Mandola Pickup with MVC + Volume Control Pickup sensor adheres to the bridge. Jack assembly with integrated volume control attaches to the tailpiece. SDC12STD Schatten Cello Pickup A combination of tremendous sound coupled with amazing response. This pickup is truly one of a kind. The new C-12 Std. model cello pickup is now available. It offers the same brilliance and clarity of sound as our old C-10 unit but requires absolutely no modification to your instrument. As you can see by the picture below, the piezo sensing unit is quite small and light in weight. It measures just about 1/2" x 5/8" x 1/8" thick. It goes on to your cello bridge with a little bit of the special putty that comes supplied with the pickup. The pickup system can be installed on your cello in about 3 minutes and was designed to allow you to install and remove it quickly and easily. There is no acoustic degradation or loss of normal acoustic tone or volume. The pickup has excellent volume, and is strong and sweet throughout its' full dynamic range. The C-12 comes ready to go and is pre-wired to the new rosewood faced jack assembly that clamps quickly and securely between the center strings just above the tail piece. This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.). If you require the added ability to be able to plug directly into a P.A. or mixer then you may wish to add one of our Preamp/DI units to your pickup system. Each pickup is hand built and tested in our workshop to ensure good sound. As well, each pickup is warranted for a period of two years from date of purchase to the original purchaser.
