THE NXTa ACTIVE SERIES DOUBLE BASS, whose electronics are fully based around the Polar™ Pickup System, share the classic body design, ergonomics and performance support options of the CR and EU Series.
Available in 4 and 5 string configurations, these instruments are produced in the Czech Republic by the same craftsmen who build NS Design’s most advanced instruments.
Arco and Pizzicato techniques have almost unlimited expressive potential, thanks to the Polar Pickup System. A convenient switch allows selection of the traditional arco mode for percussive
attack and dynamic bowed response, or pizzicato mode for a smooth, sustained tone.
Dual Mode Output - The new dual mode signal output electronics of the NXTa take the convenience, versatility and performance capability of the NXT to another level.
Active Mode - Using the supplied charger, the NXTa connects into any AC outlet for 60 seconds, powering the capacitor-powered active circuit for up to 16 hours of performance time.
The instrument can then be plugged straight into any low or high impedance device, no direct box necessary. Since there is no signal loss over the full frequency spectrum of the instrument, the
fundamentals of every note remain clear and strong, even with extra-long cables.
Passive Mode - The NXTa can be played in this mode when using a direct box or an amplifier with high impedance input. (This mode provides performance capabilities identical to the original NXT.)
Eco-Friendly Operation - NXTa instruments are battery-free, eliminating the hassle and cost of batteries while helping protect our environment.
The solid maple body and neck, together with the graduated fingerboard, deliver a rich, full tone that rings true for every note. Asymmetrical fingerboard relief facilitates an even 'growl' from the
higher strings and a clear, powerful lower register. The adjustable bridge and truss rod allow for low, fast action, or for higher string settings that encourage the traditional acoustic player to 'dig in' with gusto.
NS Electric Strings and most traditional acoustic strings fit all NS Double Basses, allowing the player to select from a wide range, each with a unique sound and feel. In combination with the easy adjustment of
basic set-up parameters, the NXTa Series Bass is adaptable to many different styles of music.
Several interchangeable performance support systems are available for the NXTa upright bass: The NXT Tripod Stand (standard); the heavy-duty CR Tripod Stand; the more conventional Bass End Pin Stand and
optional Conversion Kit (used in conjunction with the CR Tripod Stand); or full mobility either the Boomerang™ Strap System or the Frame Strap System.
GIG BAG AND FLIGHT CASE: The NXTa double bass includes a padded gig bag that has a pouch for tripod stand, a bow compartment and room for the charger and accessories. The loaded gig bag will fit in the overhead
compartment of most commercial aircraft. An optional hard-shell flight case is available for the NXTa double bass.

The WAV's Polar pickup system includes a convenient toggle switch between Arco and Pizzicato mode. Use the Arco mode for a traditional acoustic response for either bowing and a percussive plucked
sound, or switch to the Pizzicato mode for uniquely even and sustained plucked sound, opening up new dimensions to the sound pallet. The piezo-powered passive electronics deliver an amazingly natural
tone with unlimited overhead for extraordinary performance without the need or hassle of batteries.

The CR Series electric upright bass, with its exceptional versatility and tone quality, is an indispensable tool for a wide range of touring professionals and recording artists.
The lean, solid-body CR Series bass takes its place in a long history of fine instruments crafted in the Czech Republic.
Available in 4 and 5 string models, the CR Series neck and body are made from select maple. The full scale fingerboard is graduated for consistent response from note to note, with adjustable
relief and bridge height to suit all playing styles. Our Polar™ Bridge Pickup System combines great sound with directional sensitivity, for a rich and expressive response to arco
and pizzicato technique. Optional EMG™ magnetic pickups expand the range to include classic electric bass sounds.

Features :
MAPLE BODY AND NECK: The body and neck of the CR Series double bass are crafted of solid European hard maple, with a flame maple face. The neck has a traditional upright shape, but with
extended access to the upper register of the fingerboard. The solid-body design enhances sustain and clarity, and is resistant to the effects of temperature change and humidity.
FINGERBOARD: The fingerboard is expertly graduated with an asymmetric profile to insure that each note is even and buzz free. An adjustable truss rod allows for precise relief adjustment for different
strings and playing style. A cascading dot pattern across the neck provides an accurate reference for position.
POLAR BRIDGE PICKUP SYSTEM: The Polar pickups can sense either lateral or vertical string vibration - or both! Set in the lateral mode, the pickup has unparalleled sensitivity in the direction
of the bow. In the vertical mode, plucked notes are remarkably even and sustained.
EMG MAGNETIC PICKUPS: A feature of the CR4M and CR5M basses, the low-impedance EMG pickups incorporate individually adjustable coils and neodymium magnets. Each coil is buffered separately for a
full sound quality with very low noise.
ACTIVE EQ AND MIXER: Controls include volume, a blend control for magnetic and piezo pickups, the mode of the Polar pickup direction, and individual treble EQ & bass EQ controls.
The 18-volt power supply insures plenty of reserve overhead for full dynamics.
ADJUSTABLE BRIDGE: Two screws in the back of the body are used to adjust the bridge up and down. This allows the instrument to be set up to meet the requirements of many different playing styles.
Several interchangeable support systems are available for the bass: the CR Tripod Stand, the more conventional Bass End Pin Stand with optional Conversion Kit, or full mobility the Boomerang™
